13% of tuberculosis deaths could be prevented by improving child nutrition and family planning; 3% of tuberculosis deaths could be prevented by increased access to alcohol abuse treatment.
25% of newborn deaths could be prevented by increasing access to skilled birth attendance and skilled neonatal care; 19% of pneumonia deaths could be prevented by improving environmental and living conditions and use of indoor air cleaners;
8% of malaria deaths could be prevented by improving patient care and follow up and 15% of maternal deaths could be prevented by improving community-based service delivery and delivering health information through mobile phones.
45% of CVD deaths could be prevented by reducing salt intake, alcohol, and tobacco use and improving fruit and vegetable consumption; 26% of obesity-related deaths could be prevented by reducing energy intake, physical activity, and dietary patterns; 11% of diabetes deaths could be prevented by preventing or reducing obesity; 6% of cerebrovascular deaths could be prevented by reducing blood pressure, blood lipids, and blood sugar levels.
36% of cancers could be prevented by using mammography screening for breast cancer and increasing screening for colon cancer;
16% of all cancers could be prevented by improving breast cancer survival rates and improving treatment adherence to recommended treatments; 16% of all cancers could be prevented by improving treatment adherence to recommended treatments for colorectal cancer;
9% of all cancers could be prevented by improving colorectal cancer treatment adherence.
39% of cancer deaths could be prevented by improving child nutrition and family planning; 35% of asthma deaths could be prevented by decreasing outdoor pollution; 23% of eye, ear, nose, throat, oral cavity, and cervical cancer deaths could be prevented by timely diagnosis and adequate treatment.
